Night Huntress Series, Book 7
Note: This is the last book in a series. Just go read the prior books if you don't want what you read below to slightly spoil them (although it's Cat and Bones - nothing can spoil them).
Description (taken from Goodreads):
There’s always one more grave to dig.
Lately, life has been unnaturally calm for vampires Cat Crawfield and her husband Bones. They should have known better than to relax their guard, because a shocking revelation sends them back into action to stop an all-out war…
A rogue CIA agent is involved in horrifying secret activities that threaten to raise tensions between humans and the undead to dangerous heights. Now Cat and Bones are in a race against time to save their friends from a fate worse than death…because the more secrets they unravel, the deadlier the consequences. And if they fail, their lives—and those of everyone they hold dear— will be hovering on the edge of the grave.
The last book in this series. No..... It's so bittersweet to see the series end, yet I'm so happy that it ends on a good note. This series will always be one of my favorite vampire romances out there.
Don the ghost has finally found Cat alone to inquire about her Homeland Security friends and prior coworkers. When Cat realizes they've disappeared, she has a suspicion that Madigan, the crazy ex-CIA operative, is involving them in something fishy. With Bones' help, willing or not, Cat dives head first to find her friends and figure out what's going on. But when the truth comes out, she realizes there's more at stake than just losing her friends: war between the vampires and ghouls could ignite. Bones and Cat must do everything they can to stop it while protecting their own.
I was into this book from the introduction. And I didn't quite stop until I finished it (there were a couple of breaks in between). This book has a really good conclusion and it ties the paranormal pieces in well. I'm so sad to see the series end, but I find solace in the fact that I can now go read about Vlad. And Jeaniene Frost is starting a new series that I'll be watching out for.
I must admit that Jeaniene Frost is one of my favorite authors. She writes some of the best steamy scenes. And I absolutely loved this series from beginning to end. It's a definite must-read for vampire fans.
