17th century Scotland and Post WWII, I would suggest "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon. It's my very favorite book of all-time AND it features time travel!!

ReplyDeleteTime and Again by Jack Finney is a great Time Travel novel that has wonderfully convincing recreations of the New York City of the 1880s and the New York City of the late 1960s. I really recommend it to anyone! =D

ReplyDeleteI recommend James White's Second Ending. It's a futuristic short novel. I found it in my dad's bookshelf when I was in high school and I fell in love with the story.

Any book by Elizabeth Chadwick who writes mostly about medieval England and France, but she really makes history come alive. I've read and loved nearly all of her books. Also, read Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, it's really captivating too.
